Roads

The UKNIAF Roads Component officially closed in March 2022.

The goal of the Roads Component supported the management and maintenance of the Federal Road Network, by working with relevant government agencies. This work identified and overcame constraints to transformational change in managing the Federal Road Network.

The Roads Component achieved this through a three-pronged approach: Road Sector Reform, Effective Road Asset Management and Improved Works Delivery.

The Road interventions:

• Improved the condition and recovery of the Federal Road Network providing a road
  network that facilitates economic growth.
• Facilitated the implementation of Federal Government’s sector reform plans and policies
  to improve the sector’s management and its technical and operational systems and processes.
• Supported effective road asset management by improving evidence-based decision
  making in relation to road maintenance through a Road Asset Management System.
